Custom Gearboxes

Cobra designs and manufactures custom gearboxes ranging from 5 to 300 kW for a wide variety of applications, in yearly quantities usually ranging from 30 to 3000 units. The company can count on a very strong experience in this area, and can handle a wide range of special power transmission project. Cobra currently produces a range of 80 gearboxes each one provided in customized versions to many customers all over the world, ranging from small companies to large multinational groups.

Custom designs are developed by a team of skilled and creative engineers in close collaboration with customers. Every effort is made to achieve a perfect integration of the gearbox into the customer machine design, often resulting in a simplification of the overall architecture and a significant cost reduction.

The development process includes a number of benchmarks along the way, to ensure that target requirement will be met on time.

Currently the main target area for Cobra’s custom gearboxes is concrete mixers and industrial applications (57% of turnover), followed by power transmissions for special vehicles, road construction machines and special forklift (29%) and soil preparation machines (13%).
