About us

Cobra is an Italian, privately owned manufacturer of custom gearboxes and precision planetary gearboxes, located in Calderara di Reno, near Bologna. The company, founded in 1981, employs 30 people.

Cobra designs and manufactures full-custom gearboxes for a wide range of agricultural and industrial applications, such as combine harvesters, forklifts, concrete mixers etc. The company also manufactures an extensive family of off-the-shelf precision planetary gearboxes, mainly intended for motion control applications in a wide range of industrial sectors.

Export sales to countries other than Italy account for 90% of Cobra’s turnover. Most of the company’s customers are based in Western Europe and South America, with Germany representing the single largest share of sales.
