Precision Planetary Gearboxes

Cobra manufactures a complete family of precision planetary gearboxes addressing the applications that require highly precise positioning and highly dynamic response. Being able to accept high input speed values, these products are a perfect fit for brushless engines. The planetary architecture, by sharing the workload among multiple gears, allows to obtain systems with low hysteresis and high torsion stiffness. As a result, these products can be used in a very wide range of applications, such as machine tools (for both metal and wood), manufacturing machinery (for assembly, packaging, textile, glass applications), printing equipment, positioning systems and portals, medical equipment, automatic storage systems, robotics etc.

The HP and HPE lines of controlled backlash planetary gearboxes joined Cobra’s production after the acquisition of the business unit from company miniGears, which developed this product in year 1992.
